Where did the name "Solomon's Porch" come from?
"At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's portico." Acts 5:12
Solomon's Porch was a covered colonade at the Eastern part of the temple in Jerusalem in the first century. It was an open place of Spiritual Wonder for Jews and gentiles alike to gather together to experience ministry, worship and spiritual conversation. Solomon's (King David's Son. the second king of Israel and the builder of the original temple) name means "Peace". This portico was also a place for people to come and experience God's peace. Our desire today at Solomon's Porch is to create a peaceful and open environment so all can experience the Wonder of the love of Jesus Christ.
